Tonsai Bay is the cheaper alternative to the more expensive Railay Beach.

But it is by no means very cheap. High season rates run from 350-2000 for very basic bungalows. Standard fan bunglows on Tonsai Beach are between 350-850 per night.

I recently (Jan 2007) stayed at the Jungle Hut bungalows. All of Ton Sai was fully! Jungle Hut offered me the last room ... a banana shack converted into bungalow. Woke up with a rather large lizard in the bed ... no joke!
